Xbox always resets the settings...

Hello,

I have a major problem concerning my Xbox One S console.

Many settings are reset each time the Xbox is started.

So the date is always the 01.09.2014 (1st of september 2014) and the time 18:00 clock (6 o`clock PM).

The biggest annoyance is that the network settings are gone,

I have to enter the access data for the router each time,

restart the router and also the Xbox until it is back in my WLAN.

I have no MAC filter installed on the router (Connect Box from Unitymedia).

Can someone help?

Hi Andy,

Thanks for letting us know you found a resolution. It also could be the wireless that it gets disconnected through the night. However that shouldn't reset all the settings.
I will go ahead and lock this thread as it has been resolved. Please feel free to come back to the forums if you have any other issues, questions, or just want to create a discussion to talk to fellow gamers.

Hi,

thanks for your answer...it´s an Xbox One S, not "X" and the purchase date was the 20th of april 2017.

Due to the fact that at the moment we have summer holidays and my son is playing with the console almost every second evening, I´ll wait with a factory reset until he´s finished his game.

Not for all games I have disks, what about these games with installation codes? Is it possible to reinstall them? Or do I get an answer like "Code already used..."?

Maybe I´ll try some other things like don´t turning off the switchable socket an/or connecting it to LAN instead of WLAN...

If something helps I´ll post it...

My initial guess when I hear the problems you're facing is that there is an issue with your console. Symptoms sound like a battery on the motherboard is out so when it powers down it's not saving your settings. Do you have it set to Energy Saver or Instant
On? I would recommend to reaching out to Hardware Support and see what options you have at the Microsoft Device Support page. Is this a new issue? In it was saving your settings
previously, but has recently stopped, or has this been a persistent issue with the console since you've got it?

You will be able to reinstall the digital games without having the codes. They will show up in your ready to install list. You can do a factory reset without impacting his games. There is a setting to keep games and apps.

I'm sorry to hear about your Xbox constantly resetting the console settings. That sounds like a unique issue.

How long have you owned your Xbox One X for? When did you purchase it more or less? Let us know.

If you haven't already done so, go ahead and try performing a complete Soft console Factory
reset on your console by doing the following:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Settings.
Select All Settings.
Select System.
Select Console info & updates.
Select Reset console. [DELETE EVERYTHING]

Make sure you have both your email and password on hand as you will be asked to sign back in. There is an option to delete everything Go with that option. Afterwards, you'll need to redownload your Profile, Games and apps but your Xbox will be totally refreshed.
