Xbox Ally X’s Armoury Crate lighting doesn’t work

ASUS has its own Armoury Crate selected for it and there is no option to change it.

This worked for me.

Xbox app would open but never load into the hud. Uninstalled it and it wouldn't re-install.

This fixed it.

Stuff has been playing up since an armoury crate update. That won't install either. Now to fix that.

Turn off the igpu mode in the armoury crate app, If it is already off then turn it on and back off again, this is one of the fixes for this unit.

I just wanted to provide an update.

The original details of the error I provided initially were from the Event Viewer - it didn't really provide much help.

I tried formatting and reinstalling Windows 11, only to see a repeat of the issue. I did, however, notice that my motherboard manufacturer was injecting software as part of the Windows installation.

I disabled this option in the Asus BIOS, and performed another clean installation. The game now runs. It seems there is a conflict between Forza Horizon 4, and the Asus Armoury Crate software which is injected into the Windows 11 installation by the UEFI BIOS.

Although I don't fully understand what conflict their software is causing, I would say this issue can now be marked as resolved.

For anyone else coming across this issue, who uses an Asus motherboard, attempt to remove the Asus Armoury Crate installation, or perform a clean install of Windows with the following setting in your Asus BIOS:

Tool > ASUS Armoury Crate > Download & Install ARMOURY CRATE APP = Disabled.

There are a couple of ways to use a controller for Minecraft Java. The game does not support this natively but in this day and age, who cares?

You can use this mod: Controllable Mod

This mod simply adds controller support to Minecraft while having one dependency (Framework) as well as fabric or forge.

The other way to do it is by editing the registry: r/ROGAlly fix

This solves an issue where the ally inputs don't register as they should.

In case you don't want to scroll through that,

Press win+r

In the run window, type regedit

Follow the path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > PrecisionTouchPad

Change the value of 'AAPThreshold' to 0

As always, be wary and careful when installing software like mods, or changing sensitive values like registry data.

@Diehe The registry fix you posted is only half of the fix that you're referring to. The registry fix only fixes an issue that is brought on by adding JDK to armoury crate (for adding Minecraft Java to armoury crate for custom control schemes). The issue is laggy touch input with custom control schemes from Armoury crate. This was all discovered by Reddit user WoolKing in the ROG subreddit, which you should scroll through so you actually understand what you're sharing. The registry modification you posted as a solution isn't a solution to the issue OP posted, and if you don't understand the solution, what it does and how it works you really shouldnt be sharing it with others.
