Xbox All Access - unable to redeem Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

You can add the 24 months of Ultimate to your existing subscription as long as it won't go over 36 months. If it were to go over the 36 months, you would need to wait until you have 12 months or less remaining on your subscription before redeeming the 24
months of Ultimate.

The code does not expire. You can add the 24 months of Ultimate to your existing subscription as long as it won't go over 36 months. If it were to go over the 36 months, you would need to wait until you have 12 months or less remaining on your subscription before redeeming the 24 months of Ultimate.

You can't gift the GPU subscription from All Access:

"Your 24-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership is delivered directly to your console during set-up and is available in Settings; no codes required. Must be redeemed on the console purchased in the Bundle"

I should mention those are the terms for the UK side of things...I imagine it is the same elsewhere but different countries have different legal stuff

Edit: The GPU has to be redeemed on the console it is associated with but can be redeemed by any account on that console apparently.

As to whether it is time-gated: All I could find was this: "If you’re already an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member, wait until your existing membership has a prepaid balance that is less than 12 months before redeeming the 24-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership through Xbox All Access. You will be unable to redeem with more than 12 prepaid months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate."
