    Xbox All Access Extortion


    I was trying to buy an Xbox Series X at 3:00 PM Eastern time today on Walmart's website as they had a restock available at 3:00. I found out that the only way to possibly purchase one was with Xbox All Access. This is extortion. Xbox All Access is an optional item. It is not a requirement to purchase an Xbox or to be able to use an Xbox. To force the customer to take out a loan and pay an extra $340 dollars for an optional item that they do not want and maybe not even use, just to purchase an Xbox Series X is flat out extortion. Everyone should have the option to purchase the Xbox Series X out right for the $500 and if they want to add Xbox All Access, they can. It should not be a requirement. Microsoft should be ashamed of themselves for being this greedy.

    I just got my Series X delivered this week and I didn't have to purchase it with All Access. Ordered mine from Gamestop on March 9th. There is no forcing of All Access.

    Agreed, months later and the same tactics are being used. Ridiculous.

    Microsoft is using the product shortage to drive All Access Sales and in this case, 'requiring' them.

    How long do you think it will take for other platforms to realize how lucrative this practice actually is and start artificially creating 'limited product availability' to drive add ons in their product lineup.?

    This isn't the end of a 'temporary situation' it is the start of something far worse and a Pandora's box that will be MUCH harder to close. This is simple retail sales strategy straight out of the Friedman Sales Manual and VERY disappointing to see from Microsoft.

    No they just reserve some units for all access

    Its also the best way to avoid scalpers as noone wants a contract

    Feel fortunate they had those free rather then scalpers taking units
