Xbox account has been permanently banned

Yesterday at 17:00 I had an email stating that my xbox account had been permanently banned, apparently for cheating? I play mw2 and the odd game on killing floor 2. I'm pretty peed off as my kids also rely on my account to gameshare. And now there consoles are basically useless too now. I've lost years of gamerscore, £1000s spent on digital games and so on. I get a few hours a day to myself during the week with work commitments now I carnt even access my account to play anything. Feel asif I've been banned without letting me appeal my ban correctly. Feel as though I've been let down by Microsoft and call my 9+ year xbox run to an end. And sell mine and my kids consoles to get ps5s instead.

A permanent suspension means your account has been permanently banned from connected to the Xbox servers.

If it is truly permanently banned, no. Once an account is banned you forfeit anything on the account and there's no way to sign into it to set your Home account. It's always best to set your own console as your Home account.

There has been a glitch with the suspension notifications though that has been telling everyone they are permanently banned when they're just suspended. So you may not be permanently banned.

Customer services can not help with accounts that have been suspended or banned permanently.

I am pretty sure that once an account has been permanently banned the associated gamertag is locked to it.
