Xbox account email transfer

Is there ever going to be a way to change what email is attached to an Xbox account without deleting the current email? My account is attached to an email that someone else uses since I made my account quite a while ago when I was a kid, but the only way to change the email on my account would delete the current email. The issue is that it’s still used regularly for work and can’t be remade with the same address after it’s deleted. If anyone knows a guaranteed way to keep the other email from being deleted then your advise would be greatly appreciated!

Hi AlexTasovac!

Please be advised that Microsoft account and Xbox account are just one single account. They cannot be separated. If your Microsoft services or subscriptions are linked to that account, it will stay there with the Xbox account. What you can do is to transfer email address or alias from one account to another only if that email address is a 3rd party one. If that's Microsoft email, it cannot be transferred.

Hello, Scott 55, as of now there is no possible way to transfer game progress over to another Xbox account. The best thing I would do is give the account to your child, or transfer the email accosiated with this account to a new email. Thank you for understanding.

the email account is the microsoft account which in turn is the xbox account, they are all one and the same, you cannot transfer an xbox account to another email, you would need to create a new alias instead.

Yes, it is possible to transfer your Xbox account to another Microsoft account. Here are the steps to follow:

Sign in to the Microsoft account you want to transfer your Xbox account to.

Go to the Xbox website and sign in with the Xbox account you want to transfer.

Go to the "Account" section and select "Your Info".

Under "Your Info", select "Manage your sign-in email or phone number".

Select "Add email" and add the email address of the Microsoft account you want to transfer your Xbox account to.

Verify the email address by following the instructions in the email you receive.

Once the email address is verified, select "Make primary" to make it the primary email address for your Xbox account.

Sign out of the Xbox website and sign back in using the new primary email address.

Go to the "Account" section and select "Payment & billing".

Under "Payment & billing", select "Payment options" and update the payment information if necessary.

Finally, go to the "Privacy & online safety" section and update your privacy settings if necessary.
