Xbox account considered child account even though i am not

You can change the birthdate of a child account:

1. Using the parent's Microsoft account, sign in to your account on https://family.microsoft.com.

2. At the bottom of the Your Family page, select Manage my child's profile info.

3. In the Manage permissions page of the child's account that you want to change, at the right, select Edit this child's personal info and then follow the instructions.

As i have stated, I do not have a family account and my parents do not have Microsoft accounts. i am the only person in my "family" this did not solve anything.

Based on description, you are unable to play Minecraft because your account is added to a family group and was considered as child account. Let us check and see on what we can do to help address your concern in a timely manner.

When you have reached an age that can be considered as adult, you can leave from a family group. If you cannot leave from a family group, parent or organizer of the Family group where your account is added should remove you so that you can make changes with the online and privacy settings.

To leave from family group, follow the steps below:

• Using a web browser, sign in to family.microsoft.com.
  
• Click next to your name and select Leave family group.
  
• Select Remove to confirm.

Hello, I was born in 1998 and my account even says that I am yet my account is considered a child account and I can't play certain games off of game pass.

Was the account created as a child account linked to an adult account?

If so, have the adult log in and update the setting for your account (I had this issue a few years back)
