Xbox account already linked to a ubisoft account

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

I apologize but in regards to unlinking an account this needs to be managed on Ubisoft’s end which means that you may need to reach out to them with options available.

ubisoft actually moved all my stuff from one of my old accounts to my new one ages ago via a support ticket, took about a week to sort.

you will find a lot of the companies are like this now

activision accounts can be unlinked once per year, but if you unlink and link to a different activision account then all microtransactions and saves and the lot are gone unless you relink back to the original activision account, but you then have to wait 12 months, more companies are doing it this way, even epic have now made it so you cannot change the link.

most of these games store your in game purchases, saves, online leaderboards etc on their own servers via your account and to stop fraud or getting round bans they lock in account linking.

I just read that connecting Ubisoft/Microsoft is a permanent connection. Ubisoft says to make a new account to solve this issue which is totally unacceptable on their part. Spending hundreds of hours and dollars on an account just to be told to make a new account is insulting and pure laziness from Ubisoft.

Thanks for your response. I found that I linked accounts in 2016 which would have been on my Xbox for the same game that I am trying to link accounts for today. I removed permissions from that link and all other Ubisoft permissions. and I am still faced with the same issue.

Hello JohnMc117, ubisoft's message says that there is already a Microsoft account linked to the Ubisoft account.

Because only account owners can do this verification and also account linking, you have to check your Microsoft accounts which one was previously linked to Ubisoft.

To do this, click on the link below.

https://account.microsoft.com/

And sign in with your account.

Then click Privacy.

And go down the page and go to: Apps and Services

All accounts and services linked to your Microsoft account will appear, if you have more than one you will have to do this verification on all of them.
