Xbox accessories won't save new profiles on elite 2 controller

Please answer the following questions to assist you properly :
Is this happening with the controller connected via cable or do you have it connected via Bluetooth?
Is this the first time that you want to use custom profiles or was you able to do it in the past?
Also, are you able to test the feature with a completely different PC, or if you have an Xbox Console try there

Thanks for the update. Take a look at the following troubleshooting article
Configuring the Elite controller for more information.

• The slots correspond with the Profile Switch in the middle of your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller. You can have two different profiles saved to your controller at one time. For example, if Slot 1 is your shooter profile and Slot 2 is your racing profile,
  just flip the switch and you're ready to go. You won't need to adjust any other settings. You can also do this while you play a game.
• Your configuration of the slots travels with your controllers. If you take your controller to a friend's house, the configuration will be saved on the controller and usable there.
  
• If you customize Slot 1 or Slot 2 on your controller on a different console, the new configuration will be saved to the controller and overwrite your old configuration.

I recommend reviewing the configuration for the elite controller.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums.

We won't be able to provide proof that the grips won't peel off as that would be impossible since everyone grips their controller differently, but all we can say is that the series 2 Elite controller was improved with every previous feature in mind and that
includes the rubberized grips, as they now wrap around all the way to the top of the controller.

There won't be any discounts for owning the original Elite controller.

Doesn't sound like it the only way to find out if buying one and checking that way, the new elite looks awesome anyways and I'll be buying it
