Xbox Accessories not working

Hello! I just got an Xbox Elite 2 controller and am trying to use the Accessories App on my PC to configure profiles, etc. When I open the app I can see a button to configure the controller, but when I click on it nothing happens. I am running Windows
10 and have updated both the computer and the controller as much as I can. The controller is plugged in via usb. I've also used a way to ensure they are up to date as well. I've tried it wirelessly but the app states it won't let you configure unless it is
plugged in via usb which also tried would love to get some help thank you.

Hi, I have the same issue with my Xbox Accessories app (greyed out configure button). My windows is up to date and I have an xbox live account linked to the microsoft account that I am currently signed into windows on; everything is connected to the same
email.

I do not have an xbox live account just a xbox game bar account and Microsoft account because I do not own a console just a PC to do gaming on. It didn't direct me to do anything the xbox accessories app just has configure greyed out. My xbox accessories
app is up to date as well this is just an issue of the app not registering my existence on PC.

Do you log in to Windows using a Microsoft account or just a local user account?

If you log into Windows with a Microsoft Account, does that account have an Xbox Live Gamertag?

Did the Xbox Accessories app prompt you to sign in to a Microsoft Account? I don't think it would if you logged into Windows with a Microsoft account as most WIndows apps will log in automatically to your Microsoft account.

If I'm not mistaken, you need to be logged in to an Xbox Live account to configure and save the profiles to your account which is linked to the controller.

You will need an Xbox Live account in order to configure your controller. Creating an Xbox Live account with your Microsoft account is free. You do not need to subscribe to Xbox Live Gold to play on PC but you do need an account for data synchronization
and to utilize all of the Xbox Live features available on Windows 10, including the Xbox Accessories app. There is no such thing as an Xbox Game Bar account since Windows apps use whatever login you use to login to Windows. You won't be able to use all of
the features of the Xbox Game Bar without a free Xbox Live account.

To create an Xbox Live account, go to https://www.xbox.com/en-US/live, scroll down a bit, and select Create an Account.
