    Xbox Accessories failed firmware update


    Hello,

    I was updating my Xbox One controller with the App called Xbox Accessories, but the App closed while updating and the controller now is seen as "Controller Updater" by Windows.

    Xbox Accessories doesn't recognize the controller so I can't try to update it again.

    I contacted support but they told me to use a Xbox One which I don't own and don't have access to so I was told a solution would be emailed to me but I haven't received anything.

    Then how about either the Windows or Xbox team decide who's going to support situations like soft-bricked controllers from bugs in the Xbox Accessories app? There's quite a few people, myself included, with controllers stuck in DFU (device firmware update)
    mode to no fault of our own from failed firmware updates via PC.

    Please, get the App "Xbox Accessories" from Windows Store, and try again. It will try to update your Windows 10 drivers or Xbox One controller firmware.

    If that does not work, try to update Xbox One controller firmware through your Xbox One console with a USB data cable.

    How do i undo firmware reversion for the elite series 2 controller?

    Which firmware are you on? I'm on 5.23.6.0. You can see that info in the Xbox Accessories app.

    I am having an issue where the "Update" button is lit up, indicating a new firmware update is ready to install, but when I click on it, the progress bar never moves, then after about 30 seconds it said that the firmware update failed as it couldn't be downloaded from the internet.

    If you're having the same issue as me, there is no need to revert to older firmware when it fails. I'm assuming this issue is something MS need to fix at their end.

    The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 has the newest driver (there's no firmware update in Xbox Accessories app) and the Xbox Series controller has the newest firmware (updated via Xbox Accessories app). Didn't help.

    3. This will open the controller firmware reversion screen in the Xbox Accessories app, then follow the instructions to revert the firmware.
