Xbox Accessories - Configure button from app not working

Hello, I have a problem.

Since last update the configure button from xbox accesories app not working, i press but nothing happens.

I tried to uninstall, reinstall, delete data but no change.

The controller is detected by the app, i can update, i can buzz but i can't press configure button

I have the exact same issue. I spent hours with support but he was of no help, thinking I hadn't signed in my Microsoft account properly like 10 times. Upon further investigation myself it seems to happen on the xbox beta app too because thats the login
menu thats glitching out. Seems to be an issue with the new app not playing nice with Windows 10 version 1903. As i tried my laptop which was on version1909 and it was fine, exact same account and exact same app version. Hopefully my desktop pc gets a new
windows update soon and it fixes it. If not I guess I either have to use my laptop, get an xbox or just return the damn controller.

I understand you need help with your controller button mapping.

If I may ask, is this on your Xbox console or are you using this on PC?

What type of controller do you have?

If you are on the Xbox system, you can check this from the accessories app and configure your controller from there.

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories.

When the Xbox Accessories app launches, select Configure under the accessory that you want to adjust. Check if you can adjust them there.

For PC,

You may download the Xbox accessories app from the MS store app and configure your controller there.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your controller to the point where you need to reset it. To reset your controller, you need the Xbox accessories app.

The Xbox Accessories app comes pre-installed on Xbox consoles. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, select My games & apps > See all > Apps, and then choose Xbox Accessories.

To open the Xbox Accessories app on Windows, press the Start button, type Xbox Accessories or choose it from the list, and then sign in. If the app isn’t installed on your PC, get it here:

To reset your controller, select your controller in the app and choose Configure. Choose a profile, and then select Edit > Restore to default. This returns your controller to its original factory configuration.

Hello System,

Have you tried mapping the buttons, then saving the configuration. Which device you having this issue on an Xbox console or PC?

Hi there!

All you need to do is head to the Xbox Accessories app ("My Games and Apps" > "Xbox Accessories App") and select "configure". There you should be able to re-map the buttons including the paddles on the rear of the Xbox One Elite controller.
