XBOX accessories app on windows 10 bricked my controller

Another victim here. Received my brand new Elite controller today, bricked after the update from xbox accessories app.

It may have been windows 10 anniversary update drivers that caused issue. Anyone here is facing the same brick issue without the anniversary update on their windows 10?

I just had exactly the same issue

I finally installed Windows 10 and knew that this was a prerequisite for updating the xbox one controller firmware. Installed the "xbox Accessories" app and attempted to update the firmware.

The update stalled at 0% and waited 10 minutes and hit the back arrow. The xbox accessories app no longer sees my controller...... seems that the app bricked it.

Like the original poster I do not own an xbox one console

I recently installed the XBOX accessories app on windows 10 1809. After connecting my xbox one controller via USB, the device appeared in the app. After starting a firmware update, the controller seems to switch off, and progress of the firmware update
remains at 0%. The controller cannot be switched on, and windows device manager only reports a 'Xbox One-controller DFU'. In other words. It has been bricked by that nice little Microsoft app. Great.

Is there a way to restore the controller, not requiring a Xbox, since I haven't got one?
