Xbox Accessories App for Windows - Still not Updated!

Let's manually update the controllers on your Windows 10 PC through the Xbox Accessories app. To proceed, kindly download the "Xbox Accessories" app from the
Windows Store. This is a separate app from the Xbox app. The app will enable you to update your controller. Refer to How
to update your Xbox One Controller on Windows 10 for the steps.

Is the controller software up to date?

Update your controller on Windows 10/11 by using the Xbox Accessories app:

If you don’t already have the app installed, get it in the Store:

Microsoft Store

Open the Xbox Accessories app.

Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller by using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.

When the controller is connected, you'll see the message Update Required if an update is mandatory. Install the update.

Things to keep in mind

The Xbox Accessories app is available only on Windows 10/11.

Updating the controller over Bluetooth is not supported.

If it still does the same. Please download controller tester and check for stick drift.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 has the newest driver (there's no firmware update in Xbox Accessories app) and the Xbox Series controller has the newest firmware (updated via Xbox Accessories app). Didn't help.

Ive updated windows to 21H1



Ive downloaded the xbox app and updated the xbox acessories app.



Neither of these have helped the issue, the device is still barly reposnive in games and when testing using the xbox accessories app and the "set up usb game controllers" app.

Update via PC

Update your controller on a Windows 10 PC by using the Xbox Accessories app:

1. Get the app from Microsoft Windows 10 by searching for "Xbox Accessories."
2. Launch the Xbox Accessories app.
3. Connect your Xbox One Wireless Controller by using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
   
   Note You'll be prompted to update to Windows 10 Anniversary Edition if you haven't yet done so.
4. When the controller is connected, you'll see the message Update Required if an update is mandatory. Install the update.
   
   Note You can also go to Device Info to check for an update.
