    Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver Suddenly Stopped Working


    I have an official Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless controller receiver and 3 official Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless controllers - and the receiver recently started acting up. I've tried manually uninstalling and reinstalling the driver from device manager (which used to work for me), but even after installing the "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows Version: 10.0.19041 [06/12/2019]" (I've also tried the 2009 version of the driver), the device is still listed as "Unknown Device". I've since bought a knock-off receiver which worked for a while, but that started acting up as well and refused to be picked up even after a manual driver install. I then bought another knock-off receiver but this one didn't work right off the bat.

    I've tried 3 different controllers (all official MS controllers), 3 different receivers (1 genuine MS and 2 knock-offs), every USB port on my PC, multiple restarts, multiple manual driver installs, and nothing has worked for me! Any help will be appreciated!

    You have done all the right things to get it working. It suggests to me that the receiver has broke with age.

    Do you have access to a different pc/laptop to see if it works on that?

    Я так понимаю, у Вас Windows 10? Попробуйте удалить последнее установленное обновление системы или загрузите систему в безопасном режиме и выберите "загрузка последней удачной конфигурации". Вполне возможно что проблема связана с последним системным обновлением.
