    Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver Driver Isn't Recognized


    Hi,

    I've been using my wireless receiver for years with no issues. Did a clean install of Windows 10 Pro and now I can't get it to connect. I know the steps to install the driver manually, I've done it a thousand times. So once I navigate to the Xbox 360
    Wireless Receiver Driver and install it, it says it completes but then still lists it as an "Unknown device" under Device Manager.

    I just tried it on my other computer running Windows 10 and it worked right away. Does anyone have ideas on how to fix this or what might be causing it?

    Thanks, I had the same problem, receiver used to work well on my previous install and I was unable to manually install the driver on my fresh Windows install.

    The reddit comment fixed my problem, another guy also made a youtube video based on the comment in case anyone needs, it helped me too, I had no idea 7zip could unzip executables.

    After some searching I found
    this Reddit thread     describing my exact problem. A legendary poster left detailed instructions in the comments on how to fix this issue by editing the Windows 7 drivers which you can still download from Microsoft.

    It's not easy but it's doable because I did it and it works. Hopefully it will help someone in the future.
