Xbox 360 Wireless Driver update for Xfinity XFi Xb7 Modem

Will Microsoft still support its legacy users? I have had Xbox since the beginning and have recently obtained a new xbox 360. I quickly found out the Xbox 360 has trouble connecting to Xfinity's XB7 modem/router and essentially all this needs is a driver update for the wifi card in the 360 to see and connect to this newer router. The 360 sees the 2.4ghz network with no problem but will not connect. During my research I hav found this posted all the way back to 2020. What can be done to get this 360 wirelessly online. Had I know MS was dropping it like a bad habit I would not have picked it up. I do not have a set up where i can have a constant wired connection. Please help

OK better question what is your wifi G band set at

It's imlortant

If it doesn't support wpa the standard nowadays is wpa

But if you set it to wep that's the issue

Also to make it a lot easier on yourself goto your router trust me

Press the two arrows in a circle then goto your xbox and search for wps it let's anything that scanning for wps within 25 feet to connect with a touch of a button

Typically you want to do this in a short time to avoid unknowns to connect

It will save you a lot of headache

It's important with wpa passwords if you still wanna go that route is its context sensitive

So even a different cap or wrong letter can throw off the password

WiFi is upto 100 metres but you typically have to account for walls and other signals

Also should be noted it's probably easier to get an more upto date WiFi adapter as the 2.4ghz version isn't the best unless you using WiFi A

If you are using b then you won't have much distance

G you can but 2.4ghz is prone to interference and you can get a WiFi n adapter for a xbox 360 pretty easily from any game shop used which supports 5ghz which is better

Support for the Xbox 360 ended in 2015. If your system has been fully updated, then any updates that are possible have been already applied. If it has not been, I suggest you use your phone as a hotspot and let it download updates that way. Please see your phones instruction manual for how to do this, and be warned that data rates and charges may apply from your carrier.

Unfortunately I’ve already used/currently utilizing port forwarding through the Xfi app without any change to the problem. This has happened on my current and previous modem. Both from Xfinity, but different models.

Hi, if you have the latest modem from Xfinity XB6 try to do a Port forwarding, you can do this very easy using the Xfi App. If this doesnt fix your issue, try changing the modem, try to do that in order to find out if it´s the console or the modem the cause
of this issue...

If you are using the Xfinity Xfi feature this provide your modem with an extra security firewall and to let the Xbox get conected to the Wifi you need to allow this device in your network.

Follow the next steps or follow the link i left here:

Visit xfinity.com/myxFi or open the xFi app and sign in with your Xfinity username and password.
Select Network from the Overview section.
Select Advanced Settings under More Options.
Select Port Forwarding from the menu.
Select Add Port Forward.
