ROG G75VM on Windows 10 here,

so windows 10 updates often require me to manually reinstall some drivers.

I'm used to that.

But this time I can't even manually install the driver.

I get a "device configured (null)" event.

Device USB\VID_045E&PID_0291\5&87d8f66&0&3 was configured.

By the way,

"Fixed by rolling back update" is not a "fix," so I don't see why the original post was locked.

Oh thank goodness! I'm not the only one! Hooray! But also this is very sad, because I also have not found a solution yet. I am using a Dell Inspiron Gaming laptop. I am pretty horrified though, because I use my laptop as a console pretty much, all the
time. I love sitting on the couch and playing PC games. I hope it gets updated soon!

Don't worry, I'm a dev myself, so I was sure someone messed something up instead of actively seeking to ruin a 10 year old product.

I'll check out the resources you mentioned (thanks for those!),

so in the mean time, would you mind leaving this and the other post unlocked?

Maybe someone can post here if there is ever a change in the situation.

I agree, asking you to role back isn't a great answer. But for the moment, until these issues are ironed out, it maybe the best option.

Unfortunately I can't provide you with any direct help. I no longer own the 360 wireless adaptor, but there are a number of issues reported for Windows Update Version 2004.

I've even seen Xbox One controllers being disabled on some devices - just refute the 'they want us to only buy Xbox One controllers' conspiracy theory going around.

The other issue here is that all the Xbox 360 wireless adaptors being sold in the last 10 years are clone devices. Microsoft hasn't made them since around 2010. I know that's no excuse for disabling them during an update, I'm just saying I'm sure it wasn't
intentional.

With these large updates it's advisable to disable them for a few weeks before the update. I've got my updates disabled for a month. And if you do update, remove any peripherals.
