Xbox 360 wired controller with windows

Are you sure the Xbox 360 is a wired Xbox 360 controller, and not connected by a separate cable like the play and charge cable? If it is the play and charge cable, it will not work on Windows 10, as it only charges the batteries on a PC. If it is a actual
wired controller, then Windows 10 should detect and then download the drivers if needed.

First, the play and charge kit (USB) will not turn an Xbox 360 wireless controller into a wired controller.

Your options are either to buy the USB wireless receiver for Windows:

Or to buy a purely wired Xbox 360 controller. If you're going to buy a new one I would suggest an Xbox one controller, as well, as the newer ones have bluetooth and also can use a micro-USB cable (most android devices from a couple years ago use this same
cable) to make it a wired controller.

No, you'd need a special adapter for the wireless controllers. Wired controllers would work, but 360 wireless
controllers did not have a method to send controller information over the wires, they were just for charging.

So to understand the situation you are on Windows 7 and you cannot find the driver for the Xbox controller but a Logitech controller does work when wired, is that correct?

If so, are you trying to use an Xbox 360 controller, and have you tried it wired as well?
