Xbox 360 Wifi hotspot no longer working after update to Android 9.0

I still occasionally use my Xbox 360, but since my phones (Samsung Galaxy S8 and Honor 8) were updated to Android 9, internet sharing via mobile hotspot no longer works. The hotspot worked, albeit slowly, before the update on both phones. Other devices have
no problems connecting to the hotspot. Anyone know of a solution?

Making the connection open did the trick. It's not ideal of course, but at least I can upload my Borderlands 2 save to the cloud so I can continue it at home on my Xbox One X. Thanks for helping me out!

Hello, I also use my old 360 system, I too occasionally use my Samsung note 9 Hotspot to update my games, I experienced the same issue. I was able to connect to my Hotspot when I changed my setting to allow 5Ghz when available turned off battery saving
mode, and made it now open connection.

I believe I should etching to do with the new encryption on Samsung and Android models for wifi sharing.

Also be sure to allow all devices to connect this was reset during the update for android 9.

If this still does not work I suggest contacting your provider for more information.

That may be something you need to address with your phone provider. However, there may be someone here that has the solution. You should also check out there support sites to see if someone else has the same issue and if a solution has been posted there.

I would suggest contacting local ISP's and seeing what options they have for internet, some offer wireless home internet service if you are in a remote area. The reason i suggest this is you could use a lot of data using your phone to tether for gaming.

Also you might be able to get better speeds with a much more stable internet connection.
