Xbox 360 wifi adapter red after trying all USB ports

Yeah, flashing red on the wireless adapter is not a good sign. Try plugging it into one of the other USB ports on the xbox. If it still flashes red, the adapter is dead, Jim.

We are talking about the 360S the newer slimline 360 with 3 usb ports on the back and an internal wifi adapter!

The wireless adapter works in some USB ports, but not in others

Test the USB ports Test the wireless adapter in all of the USB ports on the Xbox 360 console.

If the adapter works in one USB port but not another, try connecting another accessory to the USB port where the adapter did not work. request.

If a USB port does not work with any accessory, your console might need to be repaired.

Submit an online repair request.

If your adapter displays:

• No light

  If it is still not working, the adapter might be experiencing a hardware failure. Order a new adapter from the Xbox Online Service Center.

  The adapter is connected to a wireless router, gateway, or access point.
  
• A flashing green light
  
  Black adapter with two antennae (wireless N adapter): The adapter is attempting to connect to a wireless network.
  
• A solid red light
  
  Black with two antennae (wireless N adapter): The adapter is not recognized. Try plugging the adapter into a USB port on the front of your console.
  
  Grey with one antenna (wireless G adapter): The adapter is ready for the next step: Configure and test your connection.
  
• A flashing red light
  
  The adapter might be experiencing a hardware failure.
  
  Order a new adapter from the Xbox Online Service Center.
