    Xbox 360 usb controller error


    My xbox 360 usb wired controller is having some problems while connecting to my windows laptop. I brought this controller probably 2 months ago. It was working absolutely fine. But from few days ago, my controller is facinf problem while connecting to the
    laptop. After entering in the usb port, the connection is lost if the cable moves. And after several minutes of movinf the cable fro and back, i can get the green indicator on buf again, if the cable moves, connection is lost. Now what should I do? Should
    I replace the cable or anything else? And if yes, how to replace it? Please help.

    Yes, but also no.

    Every Xbox One controller is wireless. However, when you plug it in via USB it becomes wired and sends the signal via wire instead of wireless (while also charging batteries, if you are using the charge-pack - or in the case of your question, it's using the power via cable instead of the batteries).

    This is in contrast to how Xbox 360 controllers work. X360 has both wireless and wired. An X360 wireless controller when plugged in via USB is still sending the signal wireless, but is getting power via the USB. This is why you can't plug an Xbox 360 wireless controller via USB into your computer and have it work, because the controller is still sending a wireless signal.

    This makes the Xbox One controllers great for both Xbox One and PC gaming, because you don't need to buy a 'wired' controller for it to work on the PC, you can just plug it in via USB and it'll send the signal via USB instead. I'm really glad Microsoft did this.

    To use an Xbox 360 controller on its own on a PC, it must a wired controller. It does not matter if the USB port is 3.0, USB 2.0 devices will work on USB 3.0 ports.
    The Xbox 360 Play and Charge can not send controller data back to the PC. It will only charge the battery, or power the controller if no battery is present. A play and charge for 360 controllers is a charger, nothing
    more.

    Xbox 360 wireless controllers are always wireless. To use a Xbox 360 wireless controller on a PC, you'll need an Xbox 360 gaming receiver.

    Only the Wireless Xbox One controllers can be made wired with the correct Micro USB sync and charge type cable.

    To connect a Xbox 360 wired controller to your PC, just plug in the USB plug into the USB socket on your PC.

    Please try not using the USB hub and use a direct USB to USB to your PC for the xbox one controller.

    Otherwise, the warranty for the xbox one controller does not cover accidental damage. You will have to buy a new one if there's a problem here.

    As for the xbox 360 controller, the play and charge kit does not make it a USB controller, that device only transfers power, not data - even though it shows up on device manager. You will need the Xbox 360 wireless receiver for windows for that to work,
    or a purely wired xbox 360 controller.

    As for the USB hub having issues, please uninstall it from the device manager and reboot and see if it gets the drivers reinstalled.

    as far as I know any Xbox 360 controller is either wireless or when wired has a standard USB connection (there is also a inline cable release for wired controllers, but the full cable should still result in the usb plug. If it is different then it might
    not be an official Xbox 360 controller.
