    XBOX 360 Storage/Hard Drive Error


    My kids and I have been playing Minecraft on an XBOX 360 for a while now. Recently, we went to go play the game and everything on the hard drive had been erased, including 3-4 profiles, game data, etc. I agreed to download the console-recommended software update but that didn’t fix it. It says I need to login again in order to play the game but I’ve done that several times (even gone though the process of creating an app password) but as soon as the XBOX Live credentials are verified and the profile download appears to begin it gives an error message within seconds (error code 80070570).

    In short, it doesn’t seem like anything is downloadable to storage anymore, including my XBOX Live profile which is required to play games.     I could almost quote that thread verbatim: “I went to turn on my Xbox and it skipped the sign-in page completely, which was when I realized the 3 profiles and one Xbox Live profile were completely gone. It prompted me to update (which I did) but that didn't help. It prompted me to update a second time and that didn't help either. I then tried to re-download my Xbox Live profile onto the Memory Unit and it gave me an error message (80070570).”

    Also similar to that thread, when I go into Storage, it shows that over half of the space is being used (in the black % usage bar) but all the categories (Games & Apps, Profiles, etc.) all say 0 KB. I don’t have any external hard drives.

    Is there any way to:

    1. Reformat the Xbox’s storage (just to make it work, ever if data is lost)

    2. Recover/fix the inaccessible data that’s on the hard drive first.

    This was the suggestion for your error code on the error code list:

    A storage device (such as a memory unit or hard drive) was not found during the software update. Follow these steps:

    Turn off your console.

    Remove all console storage devices, including any USB flash drives, external hard drives or the internal hard drive on the Xbox 360 E console or Xbox 360 S console. Learn how to remove the hard drive.

    Add your primary storage device, for example, the hard drive.

    Turn on the console

    Try updating the console again.
