xbox 360 profile - new console, saved profiles on memory stick

If your 360 is online, you should be able to download your profile from Microsoft. Follow the directions here:

Try download your profile to a USB memory stick that is configured and used for the Xbox 360.

Turn off your Xbox and remove the storage device (HDD). Plug in your configured USB memory stick and follow the instructions for an update to your memory stick. Download your profile to the memory stick. If this is downloaded succesfully, turn off your Xbox.
Add your storage device (HDD) back and with the main storage device and USB inserted start your console. Now try move your profile from the USB memory stick to your HDD.

If your game saves are on the old style of memory stick, and you would get one of the "slim" xboxes, you have no way of transferring stuff over, since your console is RROD. I would suggest in that case to see if one of your friends is willing to help out
that has one of the older style xboxes. You would need the memory stick and a USB memory stick, and then on your friend's xbox just transfer the game saves (and profile) over to the USB memory stick. The USB memory stick should be 1GB or bigger, I think.

If you already have it on a USB memory stick, just move it to your new XBOX when you get one.

If you are getting another old style xbox, just put the memory stick or USB memory stick you have into the new one.



you could always sell your red ringed xbox on ebay or something for parts.

You can move your saves and account onto the new 360 via the usb stick. You will need to format the stick in your 360 but bear in mind that this will erase everything already on your stick. Put it in your 360 and goto the memory settings and select the stick
and press Y to access the format menu.

This is off the top of my head though so I might have a couple of things wrong there. Now you can move your saves and your profile to the stick. When you have your new 360 just move your profile and saves to the 360 HDD, you can also do a licence transfer
if you havn't done one within a year.

Could you try use a USB memory stick configured to use with the Xbox 360 to download your profile as follows:

Turn off your console and remove the storage device (HDD). Plug in your configured USB memory stick and start your console. Follow the instructions on screen. Try recover your profile? Did it work? If so, turn off your console and add your storage device back.
With the HDD and USB memory stick inserted start your console. Delete profile (Delete Profile Only) from your main storage device and move the profile from the USB to the HDD.
