Xbox 360 offline accounts to be associated with Microsoft emails/accounts!

Hello all,

first time writting in this community so will try to brief and save the details!

I owe an Xbox360 some years now and my children have been playing with offline accounts (not associated with any microsoft email/account).

A while ago my son created an @outlook.com email account and for some reason he made also an Xbox account with the same email. This means that automatically he has been given a gamertag.

After the creation of an xbox account he is trying to link his xbox360 offline account to his new email and xbox account!!

Unfortunately he cannot!!!

I read somewhere around the www that once a gamertag has been created then there is no way of linking the offline xbox360 account!!!

Is that true?

Is there any way of removing just the xbox gamertag and start the process again by linking the xbox360 offline account with the email my son has created, even if we loose the gamertag?

The million dollar question is if there is a solution to keep the email he created, maybe reset or delete the gamertag/xbox account and finally link the new email with offline profile in xbox360?

That's the issue - The gamertag I used on my XBOX 360 does not have an associated Microsoft Account or Email. It was an Offline XBOX 360 -- never connected it to XBOX Live. The gamertag has always been offline.

Unfortunately Offline Xbox 360 profiles can not be linked/merged or made into an online account. There is no way around this, it was designed that way. Sorry.

Taking your comment under consideration I have to suppose that since my own profile as an adult is online and live then I created it and associated with my email address since day one?

SOLUTION

Just found the easiest way to solve this.

- I created 2 new Microsoft emails (outlook or hotmail) for my sons and i stated that they are adults so to save all the difficulties with Parental Control.

- then went to XBOX360 and created a live account and gamertag for each one linking it with the above created emails

- i visited xbox.com and changed carefully the gamertag name for each one

- i added the 2 new profiles to my new xbox series s

- i sent a family invitation to each of the new emails to be added to my Microsoft Family

I have again all accounts at my new xbox signed in and live...

First of all you can not have 2 different accounts/profiles under the same email address.

So that means the email that would be associated with your xbox 360 account will either be different or you have an offline account.

you can see what email is associated with your 360 you can sign into your 360 account on your console and go to settings and profile and go to billing information and it will show you the email address associated with the account.

if you can not do that you can get ahold of xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and they can look up your account with the gamertag and if they can verify the ownership of the account can tell you your email that's associated with your account.
