Xbox 360 no longer connects to internet

I bought a 360 from a friend a few weeks ago and it connected fine, but i wanted to buy the halo reach edition so i got it off ebay. When i set up the new 360 it couldnt connect. I figured it was a wifi card problem so i swapped from the other 360(wich ishouldve tested if it still connected), but that didnt work so figured jt wasnt the problem. Next thing i did was start messing woth firewall and other settings on my modem.i made sure the firewall was set to low, added all necessary ports(wich were presets that i could add), enabled upnp, and used my computer to change my mtu to 1475. None of it has worked. I also tried restoring defaults, redownloading 360 updates, and unplugged my modem multiple times. Nothing has worked so far. Is this a common issue? Has anyone been able to solve the problem?

Please, if you know how to do it, make a Wi-Fi hotspot router on your phone and connect to it.

That way we can isolate the issue.

I try connecting to my phones hotspot seperate from the wifi and it doesnt work. Getting the same mtu error

Please, try these steps:

System settings > storage > hard drive. Press Y and delete the cache.

System settings > storage

Enter the following button sequence: X, LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X

Select the option to roll back all system updates that are installed. The console will restart automatically.

Disconnect your router and turn off your console for 5 minutes.

Once your router is back online, go back to your Xbox and complete the update.

Why not. I can't play games I paid for I'm talking over a 100 dollar's to play on my account which is a360
