    Xbox 360 No discs will read and Service Alert


    Recently ran into an issue where none of my discs play an error code of 8C230002 pops-up. Also there is a Xbox service alert. When I check online for my region it says there is no outage. So, I called customer support. Immediately the gentlemen told me the
    issue is related to a recent update that was sent out in May 2019. The problem I have with that is there hasn't been an official Xbox release since OS version 2.0.17526.0 back in 5/22/2018.

    I can't download Internet Explorer, but I can search Microsoft movies

    I have cleared my cache, deleted my profile from the drive and re-downloaded it. I don't know what else to do.

    In regards to your new error code, information can be found
    here    , though it sounds like you have tried the majority of the troubleshooting tips. It appears as though the service alert and this error are directly related. I have noticed a number of users experiencing similar store related issues on the 360 in the
    past few days.

    With respect to what you mentioned about the representative I have two theories:

    1. The representative may have been confused and thought you were talking about an Xbox One console, which did receive a significant update in that period.

    2. There was a large update to xbox core services in May, which may have inadvertently affected some features on the 360.

    Completely sure. I have 2 xbox 360's in the same house and both are having the issue. We have 3 Xbox ones and they have no issues.

    I just got a new error code when trying to download Internet Explorer 800700E8. I am on a wired connection.

    We understand that you're experiencing an issue concerning an inability for your Xbox One console to properly read discs, along with receiving error code 8c230002.

    The error code is an indication that there is a store error, found here on our
    Error 8c230002 occurs when you try to watch or purchase content on Xbox 360 support article.

    This may be an error in the console not recognizing the disc of course, and as mentioned may involve the actual disc drive needing to be replaced.

    Why in the world would xbox core service have anything to do with multiple game discs not playing? Especially games which have an offline mode, Borderland's 2, and single player mode, Darksiders 2.

    I'll try again in the morning and update this post.
