Xbox 360: Movies & TV app problems playing downloads

Hello,

I have previously purchased many TV shows via the Movies & TV app.

I have poor broadband, so was happy that the Xbox 360 allowed download of my purchases

so I can watch them without any buffering or blurring of image (reduced resolution).

Everything has been working fine until I tried today.

When I try to playback a downloaded TV episode it gives me error 80070057

If I deleted my download and try playing again, it correctly streams the TV episode (although at reduced resolution).

If I press the download button to re-download the TV episode it gives me an error that it cannot find the

correct licence for playback. However, as I've said before, it has no problem streaming the episode, so it

had no problems finding the license there !!!

Is playback of downloads broken on Xbox 360 ? Is there a way to fix this ?

No worries, both the 360 and the Xbox One can play movie discs.

The 360 is unable to play Blu Ray but does handle movie discs with no problems.

The Xbox One can play both regular and Blu Ray discs.

If your mother requires proof that movies can be played on the console you just need to show her the Movie and TV app on the console.

I'm a french user and I've the same problem with my movie's purchase. The licence... "Impossible d'obtenir la licence nécessaire la lecture." Streaming and download.

Xbox 360 services are deteriorated. It's Microsoft's fault.
It's getting worse !

And here, the Xbox support is actually closed (online and phone). Since two months. Great !

I've been looking into this issue and if I look at the "Download Devices" on

my Xbox 360 I see a blank list. I suspect that my Xbox 360 should be on this list,

and some update caused a bug so that the Download Devices list ends up empty.

Could we get an update to fix this ?

The ability to download Movies and TV Episodes is not currently available on Xbox One. It is there for the Windows 8 Video app and Xbox 360.

I don't recall the TV app being taken away from the Xbox 360. Can you not find it from the TV and Movies section on the dashboard where it says get Your TV App?
