    Xbox 360 message can't be sent.


    I got a message from my friend on Xbox Live on my laptop, then I was like, instead of messaging him from here, I'll message him from my Xbox in front of me and I got hit with "Your message could not be sent", I tried repeatedly, even happened on my Xbox Series X when I sent a message from inside a 360 game. I also reconnected from Xbox Live, didn't work. Please help.

    Hi there Sarmad welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Try the following!

    Open the Xbox Guide by pressing the guide button on the controller and select

    Settings.

    Select Network Settings.

    Select Advanced Settings.

    Under Change Settings select Alternate MAC Address.

    Select Clear.

    Allow the console to restart when prompted.

    I have same problem, it started around the same time, I cant be sure though. Cant party up together so we just have to join session in progress. Very frustrating. done a bunch of troubleshooting.

    This is happening to everyone who is using 360 or backwards compatibility on a newer console to play 360 games. Interesting that your outage started December 3. Ours started last night (Dec 5).

    This isn't a user issue, this is a Microsoft issue.

    I am having the same problem as well as all of my friends. This started December 2nd. We have not been able to invite to chat, invite to game or send/receive messages. Tried all of the troubleshooting but nothing worked. This is very frustrating because we cannot play games with each other. Cmon Microsoft!
