    Hi, I recently got an Xbox Series S and I've been really into the backwards compatibility feature.

    I'm a huge fan of Valve and I wanted to see if The Orange Box was available as I'd love to play through those games but on Xbox, however when I checked the store page on my Series S, it came up as 'Not Currently Available'. After some looking around I found out that if you bought the game off an Xbox 360 or off the Xbox 360 Marketplace site then you could play the game on Series S, so I checked to see if that was possible.

    So I found the game, went to checkout, and was caught of guard as I saw the US Currency instead of UK Currency. I thought I might have accidentally went on the US site but no, the game was priced at £14.99, however when I click the option to buy the game, it went to $19.99.

    I'm honestly really confused, is the ability to get Xbox 360 BC games that aren't available on the Series S|X store only available in the US? Or is there an issue going on here?

    Any help would be extremely appreciated, thanks in advance.

    Xbox Account Region Changed by Mistake

    The link you sent works up until I try to checkout. The moment I click buy a foreign screen pops up and it changes me to the foreign store (only applies to 360 marketplace)…as I said before I can manually force my region to UK in both Xbox series X and Windows 11, but the marketplace link keeps forcing me to the foreign store whenever I try to checkout.

    Well first and foremost What region are you actually in

    Very important

    I'm.not sure why you are switching between regions us and uk

    But that would be causing your issue

    The Xbox 360 marketplace is region LOCKED

    meaning it's not a toy

    Your account region and actual region MUST MATCH

    So if you are in France or Germany and switching websites regions that would be the issue

    Region locks and actual region are important

    So you cannot get us or uk content in Germany for example

    Trying to bypass the rules is against the marketplace rules and terms of use

    The corrupt data is because of the region locks

    I can confirm I’m able to make purchases on Xbox Series X store using the UK storefront and my UK bank card. I’m also able to do the same from the Microsoft store on Windows 11. Only thing I can’t do is the 360 marketplace as that forces me to use the foreign store. Is there anything else I need to be aware of or is it just the 360 marketplace I’m locked out of for 90 days? All of my games, licenses etc all appear to still be working despite the migration and my windows 11 and Xbox are both using the UK region despite my account region being some foreign country. Only thing I can’t do, like I said, is buy DLC for a backwards compatible Xbox 360 game from the 360 marketplace as the old 360 marketplace is forcing the foreign region with no way of manually switching (windows & Xbox series X storefronts can be manually switched).

    basically it is correcting itself for your region

    All prices are region based

    You have to remember you are using the website on the Xbox one not the Xbox 360 marketplace.

    Which defaults to the us website

    But to use your payment option when making the purchase you go based on your account region

    You can go here and switch to the marketplace and change to your actual region to see the price

    Also if you don't have gold but home gold that would also be why

    Home gold doesn't affect the Xbox 360 marketplace as it's an Xbox one feature..

    The Adult account with actual gold would have to make the purchase

    Xbox marketplace not working

    It appears to be all games on the 360 marketplace. I downloaded Firefox and now I can get to the checkout but before it finishes the transaction it gets stuck loading.
