Xbox 360 Kinect.games cam cause consoles to overheat?

I played this game called Let's.Cheer and imy console overheated. I have a Xbox 360s. Are Kinect games a major cause of consoles overheating? Also is keeping the console offline better for preventing overheating? Is installing a game on the hard drive rather than playing off of the disc prevents overheating better?

As youncan tell want to keep my Xbox 360 going as long.as possible. How often should I change.the thermal paste andax hours it should be on before going what time.period of.rest?

Thank you for posting on the Xbox Communities Forum. Kinect games aren't a direct cause for overheating, but as these games are quite intensive for the hardware, they can cause more heat to be generated. If your console is dusty, or placed suboptimally, this increase in heat may result in overheating.

Keeping the console offline will not affect how hot the console runs, neither will installing a game to a hard drive. To prevent overheating, make sure you console has enough space around it, and the air vents aren't blocked. If the console is dusty, you can use compressed air to blow out the dust without taking the console apart.

cause you can now use regular pc web cams and not specifically the kinetic like xbox 360.

Hi there! Have you checked on the fans? If they are not spinning or they are not turned on when the console is plugged in, the console will overheat and cause the half ring. Check that and also check to see if the fans itself is dusty or dirty. Oftentimes,
if the fans are dirty, it won't spin, causing your console to overheat.

You can also just let the console sit a while with the power cord unplugged. Rarely, you console will just overheat due to excessive usage. Let it sit a while.

I suggest getting an Intercooler. See if the Xbox gets hot. Another thing also, putting an Xbox 360 on Carpet can make an Xbox overheat causing the problem. Thanks for posting this.
