    Xbox 360 HDD preservation (Blades Dashboard)


    Hello, I have just received an old Xbox 360 with the original blades dashboard. The console is running a 20GB HDD, but it is showing its age. I’m looking to upgrade the drive but at the same time preserve the blades dashboard. I’ve looked into drive cloning but heard it can cause potential issues. Can anyone help me please? I just want to preserve a piece of history before it is one day gone forever. Thank you.

    Xbox 360 HDD preservation (Blades Dashboard)

    The update for Xbox 360 is either downloaded from Xbox Live or updated via a disc or USB drive. A replacement hdd won't force an O.S update to my knowledge.

    The main Operating System is stored on a non user accessible flash storage anyway.

    If you don't update the console you won't lose the blades.

    'Blade' is just a hangover term from the original dashboard for the Xbox 360, which was known as the Blades dashboard.

    So when people say 'Social Blade' they simply mean the social section of the dashboard.

    The current dashboard is pretty easy to understand but if you need help, most folk on the forum will try their best to answer any questions you might have.

    and now i miss the blade dashboard... thanks. :( seriously blades and the UI right after NEX was great this metro stuff is bad.
