Xbox 360 games are larger on Xbox One.

This isn’t really a problem just a quirk I noticed and google has led me nowhere. Anyway every now and then I will download a 360 game on my 360 and when I download it on One it will be larger than the 360 version. For instance Tomb Raider Underworld was 6.6
gigs on the 360 but on the One it is 7.2. Any idea what’s going on?

The other contributing reason is that the actual game file sizes are so much larger on Xbox One than anything on Xbox 360 - coupled with potentially large updates to download, this takes much more time than the 360's installation process.

Has MS discontinued the ordinal Xbox emulator for the Xbox 360?

As Eggnogga said, you will need an official Xbox HDD on your Xbox 360. While there is a large portion of the original Xbox games library not all them are able to be played on Xbox 360.

With that said, Halo 2 does work on Xbox 360

Xbox 360 backwards compatible games have been reverse engineered and converted to the play on the Xbox One platform. This is why, even if you own an Xbox 360 game on disc that is on the BC list, the Xbox One prompts you to download an update. In the case
of Xbox 360 disc games, the 'update' is the game. Due to the conversion, the download size of the game will be slightly different compared that on a 360 console. This normal.

Why rush? Stick with your Xbox 360. Play all your 360 games and get a Xbox One later on down the road. By then there will be a larger variety of new games to play.

Onyx is correct here. =) Xbox One files are significantly larger than Xbox 360 files. They will take a longer time to download.

Thing is the Xbox One version isn't just a backwards compatible version, it has much improved features that the 360 version just wasn't capable of. The Xbox One edition of the game provides larger game worlds with better draw distance and performance.
