XBOX 360 Game from Japan - won't work on my console

I ordered a game form Japan 2007 Smackdown vs. Raw off of Amazon. However, i am getting an error message that "this game's region code is not compatible with this console". Is there anyway to change the region code or unlock the game? Should I send it
back to Amazon?

The best thing to do would be to return it. There's no way to change the region for a disc game. It's related to disc regions which would be hard coded into the disc drive. When buying discs, you'd need to make sure to buy the right region for your
console. The US typically uses NTSC so the disc would have to be NTSC. Other regions use PAL and would need PAL discs. There are some discs that can work with either.

Thank you for your quick response! I figured that was the answer but was worth a shot. My boys will be bummed but we will keep looking for the proper version!

Well you won't get NOOOOOOOOOOO Anime games then. Their is no market for them on this console, their is on the Playstation therefore they get everyone of them. We got Broken Bonds because that's when the 360 was still being sold in Japan, since the 360 stopped
being sold in Japan some years back the very little anime games we had went to zero.

Oh yeah another thing, Japanese people will mostly likely only buy products from Japan, if it's not from Japan (such as Xbox), then they won't buy it.

Thanks RitzyBiscuit7 for your answer ! After some research, I found that what you're saying is right, some Xbox games only work with specific consoles (PAL, for EU - NTSC north america and NTSC-J for west asia such as Japan, Honk kong...) but, hopefully,
the Xbox live browser automatically hides games and apps not compatible with your console/region.

For my problem, I've contacted Microsoft support via live chat, and they told me that GTA San Andreas is indeed a first generation game, so, it won't be working on some regions and consoles (xbox 360 and 360-s). The operator suggested other newer GTA games,
and fully refunded me the price.
