Xbox 360 failing to log in despite correct log in details

I recently gave my old xbox 360 to my girlfriend. I cleared all previous profiles and saved games so that it would be a fresh experience for her.

She is able to make a microsoft account successfully and can save games, but the next time she turns the xbox on it always fails to log in to her account.

Tried making multiple accounts now with fresh emails and the same thing keeps happening. Please help as she cant really play games without saving.

Couple things.

1. Make sure the passwords are not longer than 16 characters the 360s do not like passwords longer than 16 characters.

2. If you have Two Step Verification turned on either turn it off or use the Microsoft App.

When I've tried to do it, it says he failed to log in as he has no full name or date of birth. To add these, I need to log in - starting the whole "your parent needs to log in" "details are missing" loop all over again.

As far as I know, there is not a "lock out" action when it comes to signing in; as in failing X times to log in will not prevent you from making subsequent attempts. Even if there is a lockout option, your brother (and yourself) only failing to enter the
correct details once would not trigger it (3 is the standard amount of attempts to trigger most lock outs). So there is nothing odd about his login being accepted after just one failure or cancellation.

I am not aware of any recent "hacks" btw, nor aware of any emails sent out from Xbox Support asking to change log in details. Make sure you verify the validity of that email.

It appears that the online purchase tries to contact your XBox and see if there is space for the download. If the Xbox is off OR if you are not logged on, the transaction fails.

I have a 360 and a One and noticed that when the 360 drive is full the transaction fails and then after adding the One Noticed that only a box that is turned on and logged in can purchase. I use the same account on both devices.
