Right now I am just trying to play Minecraft on my xbox 360 thats very old, and I go to download my profile you know, enter email and password and a little bit of loading and then boom! “Sorry, there’s a problem with the credentials that you’re using to sign in.” A few lines down and it says, 801540A9…

I need help.

Just to verify was your account associated with a parent or child account? If yes I suggest you to follow the steps in this support link:

support.xbox.com/.../error-code-801540A9

It doesn't matter if it is in the xbox one section for as I see it this is an account issue.
