Xbox 360 Error 8015000A FIXED

Hi guys!

I have been struggling to log into my old 360 for a while now and after an internet search I saw A LOT of people here with the same problem, but the conclusion was drawn that the 8015000A error was unfixable by the user because the issue is in the Xbox network and something Microsoft can only fix from there end.

BUT ATLAST

Fear not fellow gamers, with some brainstorming I found a way, a very easy way in fact, to fix this.

And it’s all logical come to think of it.

The issue lies in the 2F log-in needed to sign in your Microsoft account, our faithful 360 predates this technology years and requires something old school:

A single password.

Instead of your current log in credentials you need your e-mail adres and an app password generated for a single use only by Microsoft, which you can find on this page.

BUT BEFORE YOU CAN DO THAT:

You probably have the same issue as me and the others, that if you’re clever enough to think about using app passwords you still encounter a login error. Error 8015000A is not a password related error, but an error concerning licenses. Even though you enter the correct credentials your 360 still lacks the licenses of games / software installed to your Xbox. These licenses work almost similair like the 2F method but more permanent: During your initial sign in your login credentials got saved on your device confirming you are using your account aswel as a piece of code, a license created by Microsoft that verifies your user account is being used by one single person.

Here lies the problem if you upgraded to the One, a new license got transferred to your new device making the license on your 360 outdated.

So it’s simple your old device needs a new license, but it won’t do this if the old license is still on the 360.

YOU DONT NEED A NEW ACCOUNT FOR A NEW LICENSE:

It’s true, upon “downloading” your account to the 360 as if you’re logging in for the first time does not only delete your old account and sometimes it’s safe files, but also won’t solve the problem once you try to connect to Live. Xbox deletes your account, but not the license. That’s not on your box but on Microsoft’s end.

DELETE YOUR DEVICE in your Microsoft account, clear your 360’s cache, remove your account from the 360 (delete or transfer it to a memory card just in case), go your account on the website and in your devices delete the containing “xbox360” and some random numbers and letters and THEN download your account to your 360 using an app pssword during login.

VOILA, it’s fixed.
