    I have the xbox 360 with the Ear Force X31 headset. I purchased a smart TV and the TV does not have any RCA jacks or audio input ports. The TV has 2 HDMI ports, a optical connection and a ethernet port. What must I do to be able to use headphones with my Xbox 360 and smart TV?

    The problem you have is TVs nowadays don't always have Audio jacks...gone are the days when TVs routinely had the 3 RCA ports on them to connect to old consoles etc. I have the same problem with my Technics Stereo which has RCA jacks but my TV has none (lucikly I can just route it through my PC).

    Having had a look through the User Guide posted above, I don't see any way you will get around that..not unless you can buy some sort of Optical to RCA adapter (analog to digital)...no clue if something like this may work:

    This link has the guide to configure the headset, maybe there is some workaround for your TV. If it doesn't work, I recommend contacting TurtleBeach to see if it's possible to use this headset on smart TVs.

    Hey SeanTheKing87,

    If your Xbox 360 and TV are connected via HDMI, the headset's RCA splitter cable (included) will need to be connected to 'AUDIO OUT' jacks on the back of your TV.

    Not all TV's have AUDIO OUT jacks. You may check the specifications of your TV online or in the manual to determine if it has stereo AUDIO OUT. Alternatively, you may connect the headset directly to a headphone jack on your TV if it has one.

    If your TV does not have AUDIO OUT jacks or a headphone jack, you will need the Ear Force Xbox 360 Audio Adapter Cable.
