Xbox 360 E not connecting wireless wifi

the first version of the xbox 360 needed a wireless adapter, but the S and e models included wifi so those models should be able to connect via wifi just fine

Nope neither has worked, i even tried it on my brothers wifi. It only works over a wired connection. The wireless will connect and itll scan for internet. But once it connects to that connection it just wont do anything else. It acts like my router isnt giving wifi even though on other things it is

Press the Guide button on your controller, select Settings, and select System Settings.

Select Network Settings.

Select Wired Network.

Select Configure Network.

On the Additional Settings tab, select Restore to Factory Defaults. When prompted, select Yes, Restore to Factory Defaults. This resets the console's network settings only.

Restart your console, restart your internet devices and try again.

If the problem persists, check if you can connect the console wirelessly to another wifi network. Share your phone's internet as a hotspot and try connecting your console to that network.

You can try resetting the console to factory defaults if the problem persists, I'm afraid the console's wireless card is defective and repair is needed.

What specifically would allow the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to connect while the built-in wifi would not?

My Xbox 360 S detects a wireless signal with 4 bars, and I am testing it while sitting it right next to the modem, so there is no issue with signal strength.

My Xbox 360 S's built-in wifi is able to connect to a hotspot, and it is even able to connect to my neighbor's wifi from my house.
