    Few months ago I bought a used xbox 260. Since first received it has never recognizes any games. I thought I could turn on the console & thats that.... Nope

    My guess is your console is second hand?

    The laser in the DVD drive has failed. Microsoft no longer repair 360 consoles so you're only options are to either find a console repair business or buy another console.

    What happens when you put a disc in the drive ? Sounds, error messages or nothing.

    Hi, There has never been a disc drive app that tells you if the disc in the drive or not. If the drive recognizes a disc, then it will show, if it doesn't, then it wont. That is how it has always been.
