xbox 360 device ban, no cause or explanation

hey all —

our xbox 360 was device-banned today, and i am baffled. also kinda upset. i searched the enforcement page for information, and i know why devices are generally banned (tampering, fraud, egregious violations of community standards.). we use the device only offline, no interactions with other players in games or elsewhere. we haven’t modded the console. there is, like, nothing we could have done to merit this drastic step. my husband plays for an hour or two after work, just an older solo game, and that’s it. i am wondering if someone else hacked our device and is using it for fraud, or some situation like that? it is only explanation i can think of. i checked our account histories and absolutely nothing there: no complaints or issues.

i cannot find how to contact anyone at xbox about this. i have no idea why the ban was placed, and no idea how to address this. apparently we can’t even get a case review because it’s a permanent device ban, although i will check tomorrow just to be absolutely sure. but right now no explanation, no warning emails, no recourse, no information. just shut down.

does anyone have a way we can connect with the xbox enforcement to at least find out what they *think* we did? i am confused and frustrated and about to swear off of buying xbox stuff ever again.

if anyone has a recommendation or way to address this, i would appreciate it. thanks

Unfortunately for device bans, there is no way to contact the enforcement team regarding them.

so is there absolutely no way to find out what prompted this? i can’t believe that there can be a permanent shutdown with no reason, no recourse. it’s really really terrible service (and a service i am paying for, not like it’s a free service being cut off.)

Your best bet is to post in the
16 - My Console was Banned for an explanation. The ban is likely not to be lifted but it will at least give you an explanation as to what actions here done to cause the ban.

and the response I was given in my review was completely generic and offered not a single piece of specific information. So I guess I don't have any right to know what I'm accused of. I mean i paid money for this... I've been a customer with Microsoft
for a long time. I've had this profile since a little after the 360 was originally released. I've never been banned before. If I don't get a legitimate response for this I will not renew my subscription, I will not purchase new games. I won't participate
in this. It is completely nonsensical. This department seems to be beyond reproach. I was told I could get a hold of someone on here who could help. So if you are that someone please contact me. I will call Microsoft support tomorrow but my fingers are
not crossed.

man I did that, they didn't give me any specific information. I would like to know what exactly the problem was. So what does the enforcement team use if not forums or a phone number?? Who exactly can i contact that can help me with a suspension issue???
The site you've listed has no helpful information or uses. They gave me one chance to contact them and they answered me with a generic response copied out of the code of conduct. This Is not good business. It's kind of a joke really. Microsoft is letting
go of a very loyal customer at this point.
