XBox 360 Destroyed my disc

I was over my friends house and we we're playing COD:Black ops 2.

Some time when we were playing the xbox made this loud scratching sound, i took the disc out and on the back there was a ring all around the disc. It doesnt work anymore.

I wanted to know if there was any way to fix this. Or if i could return it if that is even allowed

HELP!

Hello Community,

the Xbox 360 destroyed my "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" Disc. There are two "rings" so it means the Disc is destroyed. I also forgot to install the game. Can anybody help me to install the game? I can give him my e-mail and password. (Pls be honestly

i think it can be a hardware problem, mosfet oder gpu if it freeze

Some dedicated game shops offer a disc repair service which may work.

As for returning it,that would be down to the retailer you bought it from but I highly doubt they'll exchange it for you.

You won't be able to return it. The only time damage like this can occur (like with any drive spinning a disc, even computers) when the drive is moved while it's spinning the disc.

However, a lot of places (as stated) will resurface the disc for a small fee. In my area, I can pay $2 for it, but it probably varies between states/cities/towns.

If the game is recognized in your console, use someone else's disc to install it. Then boot up with your disc. Resurfacing it will make it thinner and prone to breaking. The notion that the discs get damaged ONLY because you move your console is a lie. The
discs can move around the drive freely--there is no buffer or magnet to keep them down. A few cents saved, and a terrible design choice.

if the game is an original disc and listed on the backward compat list then install on the xbox one and enjoy, if not then nothing can be done unless you get a 360.

If a dodgy disc destroy it and buy a proper copy.
