    Xbox 360 Controller recognized by Windows, but not working properly


    So, basically, i bought Forza Motorsport 7, installed it and wanted to play it with my wired Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Italia steering wheel, which basically acts as a 360 controller.. The Drivers are installed by windows, but when i go ingame, its not working,
    im pressing a over and over again but i cant get past the "press a to continue" screen.. when i went into the controller settings in-game, i tried to rebind all the buttons, and there they worked, but not while driving..

    I can use it in other games, but not in this one, i tried an 8bitdo receiver with a seperate controller, and it worked..

    What should i do? Did i waste my Money on this Game? Xbox 360 Controller recognized by Windows, but not working properly :(

    Problem Adaptator xbox one for pc

    On your Windows 10 PC, I would recommend opening Device Manager and check that the adapter is being recognized properly on the PC and there are no issues listed with that device.

    I would also recommend trying to connect the controller up via a USB cable and see if the controller is recognized that way.

    And before that, I would ask that this is a Xbox One controller, or is this an Xbox 360 controller that you're trying to use?

    The new Xbox Series Controller only works properly if connected by a USB-C cable. If connected by Bluetooth (quality third-party dongle), some games do not even recognize the input and some will, but menu buttons will not work and other buttons may not work
    as they are supposed to.

    I have connected my controller by a cable and updated it with the Xbox Accessories App - same issues.

    Could you please advise on how to resolve the issues I am having? Thanks!
    I have the same problem, windows says that the controller is paired via bluetooth but the xbox accessories app does not recognize it. It works perfectly if connected by a USB-C cable.

    I have a bluetooth 4.0 dongle

    As weird as it is, Xbox Accessories App will only recognize the gamepad if it is connected by a cable - it is as designed.

    However, it does not explain, why the gamepad misbehaves, while it is guaranteed to work properly if you have up-to-date drivers and Windows update.

    Xbox Elite Controller 2 will not connect VIA usb or Bluetooth to my pc

    The original XBox Elite controller requires the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 so without that adapter it will not be recognized properly by Windows. The newer, Elite Series 2 can connect to a Windows 10 PC without the need of an adapter.

    It works perfectly fine with Windows 10 - it just isn't recognized by the Xbox app for some odd reason - all other games work perfectly fine. Windows 10 sees it as a 360 controller according to the device manager as well.
