XBOX 360 controller not detected in games played in XBOX(beta) for Windows 10

Hi,

I've been trying the XBOX (beta) application for Windows 10, also subscribed to the game pass. I've downloaded 3 games but in none of them my XBOX 360 controller seems not to be detected at all. The controller is working perfectly fine in my Steam games
and my Origin games.

Is this a know issue ? Does it require an XBOX one controller ?

Are you sure the Xbox 360 is a wired Xbox 360 controller, and not connected by a separate cable like the play and charge cable? If it is the play and charge cable, it will not work on Windows 10, as it only charges the batteries on a PC. If it is a actual
wired controller, then Windows 10 should detect and then download the drivers if needed.

How do you have the Xbox 360 controller connected? If it is a wired controller, or connected via a 360 wireless connector, it should function normally, recognized as an XInput.

What are the three games that you have tried? It might be game specific not detecting and we'll have to investigate, since it is working for other games, and thus recognized correctly by the OS.

What he is saying is that the xbox beta app won't recognize any non xbox one controller including 360 ones if the game downloaded with the app is native to xbox one rather than PC. Its insanely annoying I have the same problem. And it feels like an oversight
purely to force us to buy the next generation of propriety Microsoft controllers. Please add support for any xinput device on all apps on the xbox beta store. Games that can be bought off pc natively seem to work just fine through the app with any controller
like it does normally on pc

Thank you for your answer. I'm using a wireless controller.

The 3 games are:

Metro Exodus
Middle-earth: Shadow of War
ReCore

When I click in the XBOX button of the controller, the battery level is displayed on the screen in a tiny Window.

In Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers, the Xbox Wireless Controller appears and in the Game Controller Settings (in its contextual menu), every button is working fine.

sadly, not all games use XInput, what game are you having issues with?
