Xbox 360 controller not detected and doesnt show up in the device manager list of drivers...

After installing, please reboot your PC.

And then open Device Manager (R/click on the Start button) and you should find XBOX 360 Peripherals.

Go to Xbox 360 Controller for Windows and at the bottom of the list.

R/click on XBOX 360 Controller for Windows and select Update driver

Select the Browser My Computer option.

Then click on the "Let me pick" option.

Select a driver from the list that pops up (or more if you have more than one with the same date) and click install.

Once installed proceed with a reboot.

Since you didn't see the driver from the Device Manager it should be manually done.

Please open Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu). Find the "Unknown Device" under "Other devices," right-click on it, and select Update Driver. Choose the option to browse your computer for the driver software and navigate to the location where you downloaded the driver.

Kindly test out the controller as well on another device and see if it works or not because this will help determine if the issue is with the controller.

The link brings me to a place where i need to download a pdf.. not so sure how that is supposed to help me? Like I previously mentioned, it does not appear in the device manager..

after installing the drivers plug in the wireless receiver to your PC

Open Device Manager

Right-click "Unknown device" > "Update Driver Software"

"Browse my computer for driver software"

"Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"

Highlight "Show All Devices" > Click Next

This may take a second to load depending on your PC

Under Manufacturer select "Microsoft"

Under Model select "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows Version..."

Click Next

When you get prompted for the Update Driver Warning click "Yes"

Once your receiver is working, click the sync button on both the receiver and your wireless 360 controller and you should see a pop up from your System Tray about "USB Input Device" was detected... your controller is now synced.
