xbox 360 controller issue

i have had to remove my RF card on my 360 due to it turning my 360 on and off randomly. so i have been playing with a wired non microsoft controller. well today i decided to get a chatpad because i am using the IE app and typing is a hassel. thing is the
controller is subtly a different shape so the pad wont plug in. so i got a cable to plug my other controller into the xbox thinking it would make it a wired controller but the cord is power only. so i have 3 questions. 1 does the chatpad work with the apps
or is it only for live messages? 2 is there a way to make the wireless controller wired or does the adaptter for using the wireless controller on pc work? 3 is there a wired controller that is 100% the same shape as the wireless controller tha comes with the
system?

Did MS design Xbox without this key feature the 360 had?

I am now positive that your situation puts you in the minority with this issue.
Also not sure why you can't just adjust to the new controller?
I have had no issues since Atari with any controller on any system.

 

Uncomfortable pad?

Not had any issues like the OP.
Never had an issue on 360 or now the Xbox One.
Only Controller I had issues with was the DS3.

I much prefered the 360 pad over the X1 but after using it more and more going back to the 360 pad just feels weird. The X1 controller is excellent once you get used to it and the new bumpers and triggers.

 

I can't answer all of your questions but can tell you that the chatpad can be used to type wherever you would be able to use the on screen keyboard. I use mine particularly to avoid using the on screen keyboard which is much slower to type things.

You may need to stick with official Microsoft controllers if you want to be able to connect the chatpad. IIRC, Microsoft also made a wired controller for the 360.

 

thx for the info. i was told at the game store that u can plug a regular usb keyboard into the xbox. do u know if that is true?

I know I have personally used a keyboard on the Xbox One console, It definitely is supported but of course there may be some keyboards out there that are not going to be compatible.

You can always go through the Mouse and Keyboard support on Xbox One
