    xBox 360 Controller freezes my PC


    I bought an Arcade Stick which functions as a xBox 360 Controller. When I plug it in without having a game open, my PC starts freezing and and even disabling my second computer screen, it does this after unplugging, switching USB port, reinstalling the drivers etc. On my roommates PC (which also has Windows 10 and two screens if it matters) nothing similar happens and everything functions normally with the stick plugged in, so it's not a Controller related issue. Anything I can do to fix this? While the stick is plugged in I also can't tab out of my current game or everything freezes too.

    Hi there,

    when you are trying to use the controller on the Xbox 360, do you do that with or without the wireless usb adapter.

    Be sure to try it without when trying, since it shouldn't be needed on the 360 console. Use the pairing buttons on console and controller to establish a connection like show here:

    Hi,

    Not sure what's happened here but the problem is either with the controller hardware itself or the Xbox 360. The 360 controllers can be used on both interchangeably. It won't become a 'Windows 360 controller' after you use on a PC. I have an old 360 that I fire up every now and again, my controller works on both my PC and my 360.

    It's an old one from 2011. It is an official "Xbox 360 Wireless controller for Windows", meant for playing games on the PC. I am asking if this controller could actually be somehow used with my Xbox, rather than a PC. Thanks.
