Xbox 360 console 79% download glitch problem and how to solve it

Hello everyone

Now many of you had experienced a problem with the xbox 360 console, a glitch known as the 79% Download Glitch, this problem cause xbox 360 games when downloading them to the 360 console to be unable to finish the download when it reach 79%, resets to 0%, and back to 78% and repeats itself until it stop downloading with the notification "Can't Download Game to Xbox 360".

Base on my experience with this glitch, I discovered that it happened only to xbox live arcade games for the 360. Specifically the xbox live arcade games with the orange arcade banner.

I had tried nearly everything from clearing catche, to even a few suggestions from reddit, but none of them work. However I then had an idea on a last ditch effort to fix it involving the xbox 360 Cloud Saved Games storage and in a surprise I have discover a solution to the 79% download stop glitch.

The cause of the 79% downlaod stop issue was because the cloud saved games storage had save data from 360 games that are not backward compatible, and the recent update to the xbox 360 created this 79% download glitch for the cloud storage.

Now before you do this, make sure to move all your saved data from the xbox 360 cloud saved games storage to your xbox 360 hard drive.

First on your xbox 360 you go to Settings

Then go to System Settings

Next go to Storage and Press the Y button at the Cloud Saved Games storage

From the device option for the cloud saved games storage, Select Disable which will disable the cloud saved games storage

After that download a game and it will download passed 79%.

Once you confirmed that the download has passed beyond 79%, re-enable the Cloud Saved Games storage and the 79% download issue will be gone and you can move your 360 save data back to the cloud storage.

Make sure not to have any save data in your Cloud Saved Games storage from xbox 360 games that are not backward compatible to xbox one to prevent any download issues for your xbox 360 just to be safe. At least until that xbox 360 game becomes backward compatible
