Xbox 360/CoD2 Headset Problem

I have large family of brothers and nephews and CoD 2 is still the favorite amongst us. I now have a problem with the head set. Whether I host or just play it does not work. The headset icon displays with a red circle on the game lobby screen and stays
that way, I can hear no one, no one can hear me. But, if we set up a party - every thing works fine. CoD 2 is the ONLY game in which this occurs, every other game is fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game on the hard drive, I have changed controllers,
replaced the headset, I have replaced all the game discs with "new" ones and reinstalled. Nothing works. I have experimented with every setting I can find on the xbox and on the tv, an LG, and nothing has any effect.

We've played this for years with no problems. I am baffled and lost. Help?

"Can't download" error at ~%80

Surprise...

2 days ago tried to download COD2 again over Xbox web page. When I got home, surprise!, COD2 was on My Games list. Works like charm. Now I can celebrate 10th anniversary of COD2 on my 360.

I don't know how it installed but in the end, I finally have it.

FPS genre

CoD2: Big Red One on the PS2 is not the same as CoD2 on the 360. CoD2 was IW, CoD2BR1 was Treyarch. They are very different games. If you haven't played CoD2 on the 360 you have not played the best CoD. CoD 4 was when they broke the game. And if a broken
game is considered the best in the series, then that is a sad, sad day.

Have you contacted the game developers to see if you have been given a communications ban? If it is only happening in the one game you should reach out to the developers of that game.

Surprise...

I don't know how it installed but in the end, I finally have it.

Turn off and disconnect all controllers from the Xbox 360 and disconnect the wireless headsets from the controllers.

Connect the wireless headset to the Xbox 360 using the USB cable. Turn on the wireless headset.

Sync the headset to quadrant 1 by pressing the "Connect" button on the on the Xbox 360. Then press the "Connect" button on the wireless headset for two seconds. Do not continue to press the "Connect" button on the wireless headset, as this will change the
quadrant to which it is connected. If the headset now works without the controllers attached, the problem must be with one of your controllers. If the headset still does not work, then the problem is with the headset.

I played both, i just forget the names of the PS2 ones, I know I played big red one and I want to say I played another one on ps2 as well... not 100% sure anymore though.

on 360 I played COD2, 3, 4, WaW, MW2, black ops, MW3, and black ops 2 out of all the ones I played COD4 was still the best by far.
