XBOX 360 Cloud save enable still saying I need a gold subscription

I thought id back my 360 saves up on my 360 now cloud saving is meant to be free, but my machine is still saying a gold subscription is required when i try to turn it on? The system has the latest updates. Anyone else come across this and how do you get
    it to work?

Having cloud save problems, and understanding Xbox live trials.

Trials do not change your account status to gold. They only give you some aspects of online multiplayer. You would need a full gold subscription in order to enable cloud saves on the 360.

transfer data from xbox360 to xbox one

48hour or 14day trials dont enable gold on 360s

You will havetp purchase full gold and save your games online

And no local saves wont move to cloud you have to resave the games
So there's no way to get my 360 saves over to my Xbox One without purchasing the Live Gold? Even if I choose to save them in the cloud it still won't happen without a real Live Gold membership? And I can't enable the cloud on the 360 without a real Live Gold
    membership? Is all this correct?

    Game saves on cloud

Gold is only required to play on-line multiplayer. It "use to" be required for xbox 360 cloud saving (not 100% certain if that is still the case now with backwards compatibility) for xbox one titles though everything is cloud saved as long as your account
is xbox live enabled (silver or gold).

Deleted game data after profile was removed from xbox

    Hello Display,

Thanks for reaching out the forums. We see you have a question on save data. Unfortunately, when a profile is removed from the 360 if delete profile and items was selected this deletes all save data. There is no way of recovering this as it was saved to
the console. We recommend enabling cloud save, however you need an Xbox live gold subscription for this also. This way saves are saved to the cloud.

    Thanks,

    Brad

    Xbox One Cloud Saves

    Hi There,

On the Xbox One cloud saves are enabled automatically, so no need to do anything. If you want to get your saves back on the Xbox 360 you will have to enable cloud saves on the 360 console.
